History:
Richard Cherchio and a number of us other citizens saw a need in our Northern Valley area for an organization that would become a gathering place to do some good things both socially and politically for everyone residing in this part of the valley, not just any one city. We decided that our first responsibility was to contact our Clark County Democratic Party (CCDP) for a Charter Approval. Our charter was unanimously approved in 2008 and our Charter signed by CCDP Chairman John Hunt.

On January 29, 2009 our first official meeting was held at the Aliante Library and was officiated by one of our own Charter Members, Senator John Lee. Our founding officers were installed by North Las Vegas Municipal Court Judge Chris Lee, with other elected officials in attendance. The North Valley Democratic Club was up and running.

We talked about many issues in our initial discussions. All Democratic clubs support Democrats for elected offices. They all support Democratic values and Democratic agendas. Our club decided to work toward doing those things and even more. Although its core reason for being formed was to focus on local city, county and state elections, we also want to promote quality of life issues for ALL our working families and our retired residents. We want to work with our local unions and their membership to promote security and quality of life, and we want to work with local non-profit organizations in the good work that they do for our community children in need.

Mission:
We, the Democrats of the Northern Las Vegas Valley of Clark County, Nevada, seek to maximize the participation of residents in the Democratic Party as a powerful force in determining elections at all levels of the political process. We shall raise our voices on issues that directly impact the North Valley community and the progress of our State and local governments.
